Incidents

We are tasked by the emergency services, including HM Coastguaard, Fire & Rescue, Police and the Ambulance Services. Our teams are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Below are the callouts that we have attended.

  • Newnham 11-07-22

At 11:40, SARA Sharpness crew were tasked to reports of a dog stuck in the mud near Newnham. One crew member responded from Gloucester direct to Newnham to make contact with the owner while a mud rescue team was dispatched.

Using a rescue sled and with a flood rescue boat on scene if required, the team successfully extracted the exhausted pup from the mud and returned it to the bank for a good clean and well deserved rest.

Remember, if you see anyone in difficulty in the river or surrounding mud and sand, dial 999 and ask for the coastguard. Thankfully the owner of this dog did just that!
