This morning we became aware that West Mercia Police were concerned for a lady missing from the Droitwich area and thought likely to be in the Lower Wye Valley. Team members, some en route to Sunday morning training, checked local car parks for her vehicle - before long one of our land team Search Party Leaders spotted her car, and then found the lady concerned. He was joined by one of our Remote Rescue Medical Technicians who also lives locally; they waited with her until an ambulance arrived.
Great job and well done to all concerned.

SARA Sharpness received another immediate request from HM Coastguard just after 4pm, this time to search for and recover a vessel adrift in the Severn.
SARA Lifeboats 2 & 4 were swiftly launched and made contact with Chepstow Coastguard Rescue Team, who were able to provide an updated location of the vessel. Crews quickly located the vessel, and took it back to the slipway at Lydney.

We received an immediate tasking at 1847 from HM Coastguard to recover a dog which had fallen into the tidal basin at Sharpness.
Once on scene, the SARA Sharpness crew recovered Kinder, a very muddy Cocker Spaniel, back to his owner where apart from needing a good hose down, all was well!

The SARA land team was called out again today, shortly before midday, to support Gloucestershire Constabulary with a search for a missing motorcyclist in the Painswick area, near Stroud. Team members from SARA Tewkesbury, Beachley and Cotswolds Stations attended, and searched for several hours in the very hot conditions.
Very sadly during this time a body was discovered by the police; the SARA teams were accordingly stood down around 4pm. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man concerned.
Many thanks to all who attended.

The SARA Land Search Team was called out to support Gloucestershire Constabulary with the search for a high risk missing person on the NW side of Gloucester.
Team members from SARA stations at Beachley, Tewkesbury, Cotswolds and Wyre Forest all attended from 0900, and we were supported by a search dog team from Search and Rescue Dog Association South Wales. After a very hot day the search was suspended at 2100, with nothing having been found.
We were delighted to learn the following morning that the missing person had been found safe and well overnight.
