The team were back in the Coleford area today, continuing the search from the weekend in support of Gloucestershire Constabulary.
Team members from SARA Stations at Upton, Sharpness, Tewkesbury, Cotswolds and Beachley all attended, and searched in fairly atrocious weather.
Once again we were stood down eventually with, sadly, nothing having been found, and the police operation remains ongoing.
Many thanks to all who attended.

SARA search teams were deployed today, supporting Gloucestershire Police with a search for a missing man in the Coleford area. This was the fifth day in a row for which we have searched for him, starting on Thursday morning. As daylight faded today we were again stood down, with nothing found and the police operation ongoing.
This has been a difficult and large area to search, including many areas of former mine working, steep woods, ponds and other water features. It has mainly been a ‘land search’ but we have used our water search teams including with a powered boat at one point, and used ropework on steep ground. At another point we asked our colleagues from Gloucestershire Cave Rescue Group to assist. From SARA, team members from Beachley, Tewkesbury, Cotswolds and Sharpness Stations have all been involved.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the missing man at this difficult time. Many thanks to all those who have been involved so far.

The SARA Land Team was called out ijust before 3am, to support Gloucestershire Constabulary with a missing person search in the Painswick area, south of Gloucester. Team members from SARA stations at Beachley, Wyre Forest, Tewkesbury and Cotswolds responded, along with a search dog team from Search and Rescue Dog Association (South Wales).
A search was conducted throughout the morning and into the afternoon. Thankfully during the search the missing person was found, safe and well. They were attended to by a SARA team doctor and a SARA paramedic, and then handed on to an ambulance.
Many thanks to all who attended, and also to Avon & Somerset Search and Rescue for their commitment to support if the search had run into the evening.
