  • Lydney 01-02-20

At 11:20 we were tasked to a capsized sailing dingy off Lydney dock. SARA Lifeboat 2 the ‘Pride of Sharpness’ was launched and found that the sailor had been recovered aboard another small vessel that had been accompanying the capsized vessel. SARA 2 then recovered the casualty to Lydney docks, handing them over to Chepstow Coastguard.
Once safely ashore the crew returned to recover the capsized dingy and also tow the second vessel back to Lydney in worsening sea and wind conditions.
All the sailors were well prepared wearing good PPE and had radios with which to call for help. Always incredibly important!
