PRESS RELEASE – 22/6/06

SEVERN AREA RESCUE ASSOCIATION RECEIVES £4,000 DONATION FROM CHEPSTOW FREEMASONS

The Worshipful Masters from the Striguil Lodge and the Roderick Hill Lodge of Freemasons in Chepstow accompanied by a number of Brethren presented a cheque for £4,000.00 to SARA. The presentation took place at the SARA Chepstow Rescue Station on Thursday 22nd June 2006 and was accompanied by a short Lifeboat Launch demonstration and talk.

The Freemasons Lodge donation is one of a number of recent charitable donations made by Lodges within the Masonic Province of Monmouthshire and aimed towards local charities and aid to the community.  All Masonic Brethren take part in the raising of these charitable funds by their own social and internal fundraising activities.

SARA is a multi-disciplined rescue organisation resourced entirely by volunteers and receives no government funding.  Lloyd Bowden the SARA Chepstow Station Chairman said, “This most generous donation is very gratefully received and will be used to enable SARA to continue to maintain this essential emergency lifesaving service.”
