SARA Beachley Training Room Refurbished

SARA applied and was successful for a B&Q You Can Do It Community Award 2003. This was a grant of £5,000 of B&Q products and advice from some of their specialists on the project. Our members used this grant to totally refurbish our Training Room including complete redecoration, a new false ceiling with in-built low-voltage halogen lighting, new wood laminate flooring, new partition walls, eight large cupboards and shelving to provide secure storage, new slimline wall heaters and some kitchen wall units for housing some of our training aids.

There was even some left over for us to renew the kitchen in our Mess Area and for a mobile generator for use at incident scenes.

Our members worked extremely hard and the end result is a complete transformation of the training room. This room is used to train our 40+ volunteers on the various rescue skills required to be an active crew member.
