Pictured above is a SARA crew member in typical personal protective clothing as worn during training and callouts. This equipment is essential to ensure the crewperson's safety and well-being.
This equipment, essential to ensure the crew's
safety and well-being, costs in excess of £1000 per crew member and is
purchased using donations SARA receives. This comprises:
Radio Intercom Helmet - £600
Lifejacket - £180
Drysuit - £300
Drysuit Liner - £40
Gloves - £12
As equipment becomes worn and beyond economical
repair, it is necessary to source replacements. During the next 12 months SARA
aim to replace at least 10 drysuits which are coming towards the end of their
'operational life'.
