SARA (SEVERN AREA RESCUE ASSOCIATION)
REGARDING LISTER COMMUNICATIONS
The Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) has been kindly donated ten mobile
phones with free connection and line rental for a year by Lister Communications.
Lister Communications, established in 1988 are an independent communications
specialist with 100% focus on the business sector. Jim Clapham (Sales Manager)
kindly made the offer to Shane Clark, Sharpness Lifeboat Station Chairman, which
was gratefully accepted.
The mobile phones on the Vodafone network will be used by all three SARA stations
at Beachley, Sharpness and Upton-upon-Severn to enhance communications during
the 70+ callouts the organisation attends each year.
Shane Clark (Station Chairman) said "It is the generosity of local businesses
like Lister Communications that we rely on, as we depend solely upon charitable
donations to keep the three stations operational. SARA, like all registered
charities, has found that funding these days is proving a lot harder to come
by."
SARA will be displaying the Lister Communications and Vodafone
logos on the side of its three lifeboat haulage Land Rovers and at the lifeboat
stations themselves. Shane added "I cannot thank everyone at Lister Communications
enough for the hard work and dedication they have put into this offer. SARA
is proud to be associated with Lister Communications and Vodafone. We hope we
can help promote their excellent service and customer care. Mobile phones these
days are essential, although we do operate VHF marine radios in all our boats
and land rovers, there are operational areas that our VHF radios will not cover
and we then rely on mobile phone technology to enable us to communicate effectively
with the other emergency services."
