SARA Beachley’s MRU-10, Rescue Boat 5 and a “swift-water rescue” team readied but stood down when person self-recovered from the water.

Details: Tasked by HM Coastguard to secure and recover 16ft Motor vessel drifting on the ebb tide in the Wye Estuary. 5 adults and one child on board.
SARA Lifeboat No-3 launched to tow the vessel to the Beachley Lifeboat Station slipway.
Stood down when vessel landed safely and into the care of Chepstow Coastguard.

SARA ISU South dispatched together with MRU-1, MRU-20 AND SARA-19.
Swift Water Search teams from Newport and Tewkesbury searched a 3Km stretch of the river until darkness fell. Nothing found.

Details: Tasked by HM Coastguard to investigate report of unaccompanied dogs barking and running in and out of the water in the vicinity of mud-flats off Littleton Pill/ Aust area of the Severn Estuary.
SARA Lifeboat Launched and SARA On—scene Control established in the vicinity of the dogs.
Dogs were identified and a Local farm contacted by telephone to come and collect the escaped animals.
