Nothing was found.|

Search commenced together with Coastguard Helicopter and RNLI colleagues from Penarth. Search called off when discovered to be a hoax call.

SARA Lifeboats-1 and 3 attended and found the crew had abandoned ship onto a second vessel, the 20ft “Transformer” which had subsequently also run aground damaging her propeller.
Portishead Lifeboat took over the towing of the “Transformer” to Portishead whilst the crew of “Fiona” were evacuated to Beachley Lifeboat Station to await tidal changes which would permit the salvage of their craft.

Vessel named as "King Diamond" with three persons on board. SARA Lifeboat-3 and Lifeboat-1 together with SARA Lifeboats from Sharpness, Portishead RNLI, Tug Baloe from Avonmouth and Coastguard Helicopter-187 carried out an extensive search of the area. A black tarpaulin and an orange safety ring were recovered but no other signs of persons or wreckage. Later determined to be a hoax radio message.
