SARA volunteers in Tewkesbury have been busy clearing a site behind the Cheltenham College Boathouse (kindly donated by Cheltenham College) at Lower Lode on which to build their own lifeboat station.
They currently have 10 members training to become operational lifeboat crew and it is hoped the first crew will be fully trained by the time the station is built.

The Boathouse will have 2 rescue boats as well as provide an office/radio room, rest area, toilets and storage facilities.

Once operational the facility will provide an invaluable support to the emergency services along the Rivers Severn and Avon, and also to the other 3 SARA stations.
